🎍 New Year 2026 🎍

Dear Northside Families,

Happy New Year! I hope your winter break was filled with rest, connection, and moments of joy. It has been wonderful welcoming students back to school and seeing our classrooms come alive again with curiosity, laughter, and learning.

January marks the beginning of a long and meaningful stretch of learning. With fewer interruptions and extended time together, this part of the school year is especially powerful. Teachers are able to dig deeply into curriculum, strengthen routines, and support students in building both academic skills and confidence. In January, 1st grade through 6th grade will be taking the winter MAP assessments, and our K through 3rd will be taking the monthly Amira assessment. These assessments help us measure growth and ensure we are meeting each student’s needs through both intervention and extension opportunities. As we move through the month, students are also working toward the end of the quarter by wrapping up units of study, publishing pieces of writing and completing AR goals.

It is the middle of winter and the snow is finally on the ground which means it is time for our 4th annual 🌺 Jan-U-Aloha 🌺 dance on Thursday, January 22nd from 5:30-7pm We’re excited to bring a little tropical fun to the heart of winter! Students are encouraged to dress up during the school day in their most festive Hawaiian attire. All students must have a parent chaperone for the evening event.
